Log in with Silo

Silo is the official PirateFin service and the easiest way to watch. If you are not sure what to use, use Silo.

Silo gives each person in your home their own profile, with its own history and suggestions (and an optional PIN).

The easy way — the Silo app

1. Install Silo from your device’s app store, the same way as any other app.
2. Open Silo and type your username and password.
3. Tap Sign in.
4. Tap your name in the list of profiles. If it asks for a PIN, type your numbers.

That’s it — you’re ready to watch. 🎉

Note

Your username is not your email address. If you do not know it, ask whoever set up your PirateFin account.

Prefer another app? Use a Jellyfin app

You can also reach Silo from a Jellyfin app, if you like a different player. It takes a little more setup.

Best for a TV

A small streaming stick (a Fire TV Stick, or Chromecast with Google TV) running Wholphin is usually easier and faster than the app built into a Smart TV.

Step 2 — Connect to Silo

When the app asks for a server address, enter Silo’s address:

your-silo-server-address

In a web browser, just type that same address into the address bar.

Step 3 — Sign in and choose your profile

Jellyfin apps show only a username box and a password box — there is no profile picker. You choose your profile by adding it to your username with a #.

To choose a profile, add # and the profile name to your username:

• Username: alice#kids
• Password: your account password

Profile names ignore capital letters, so alice#Kids and alice#kids are the same.

If your profile has a PIN, add # and the PIN to your password:

• Username: alice#kids
• Password: yourpassword#1234

If you leave the profile off

If you type just your username with no #, Silo tries to pick a profile for you:

• If you have a profile with the same name as your account, that one is used.
• If you have only one profile and it has no PIN, that one is used.
• If you have several profiles, you will get a sign-in error — add #yourprofile to your username to say which one you want.

Trouble signing in?

• Double-check your username and password. They are case-sensitive.
